according to the light and ripples.

I feel no breeze.

No boat has passed.

What is creating the mini waves?

Concentric circles appear on the surface

where fish have risen,

but what of the counter clockwise swirls,

as if made by invisible whirligig beetles

or dancing water sprites?

The flow seems too low for eddies.

Father Thames is mysterious this morning.

What is he trying to tell me?

Nothing is as it seems?
